This cabin is located in most-accessible location to experience the best of Mount Shasta - trails surround the property, yet it is only 1-mile to downtown, whilst being secluded amidst mature forest. Directly across the street is the Gateway Peace Garden, a meditation prayer garden that is available for public use.

Where Basecamp is Located

Location is key.

Down the street is the Shasta Gateway Trailhead - Northern California's premier mountain biking trail system. At the end of the street is Mt Shasta City Park, the home to the headwaters of the Sacramento River - the best tasting water in the world! A little further up the road is Bunny Flats Trailhead - the highest parking lot on Mt Shasta accessible year-round and the starting point for hiking, sledding, climbing, nordic/backcountry skiing and snowmobiling. You will also see deer meandering around our neighborhood and in the backyard - make sure to say hi!

The best part about Mt Shasta is you can walk, ride, or drive with ease. Driving and parking is easy in Mt Shasta. There is never any traffic and parking is free just about everywhere.
