Directly across the street is the Gateway Peace Garden, a meditation prayer garden that is available for public use. Down the street is the Shasta Gateway Trailhead - Northern California's premier mountain biking trail system. At the end of the street is Mt Shasta City Park, the home to the headwaters of the Sacramento River - the best tasting water in the world! A little further up the road is Bunny Flats Trailhead - the highest parking lot on Mt Shasta accessible year-round and the starting point for hiking, sledding, climbing, nordic/backcountry skiing and snowmobiling.
